SLIDELL – A field of 144 teams competed in the inaugural CCA Louisiana Redfish Challenge on March 31 at the Rigolets Marina in Slidell.

There were 27 teams who received monetary awards with the top prize of $12,000 going to the team of Edward J. Adams, Ray Chagnard and Dwayne Eschete.

“We are proud of all of our participants,” Redfish Challenge Tournament Director Sam Barbera said. “They helped to make this first redfish challenge an incredible success.”

Teams departed the marina at safelight with all 144 teams on the water to their fishing destinations by 7 a.m. with the first boats returning for weigh-in at 1:30 p.m..  All redfish caught in the Challenge were tagged and released by the Aquarium of the Americas on-sight.

The Challenge officially kicked off on Friday night with a Captain’s Meeting at the Rigolet’s Marina. Complete results of the Challenge are listed below:
