Another Near Miss
Jeffrey LaCoste and his girlfriend Brenda Wasson were fishing out of their bay boat for the first time last Saturday.  They had their rods rigged up right for live bait, had just arrived at the perfect spot after loading the livewell with frisky shrimp and had a couple of beautiful Lake Pontchartrain redfish already in the boat.
The only thing they didn’t have was tickets to fish the CCA Louisiana S.T.A.R., costing the New Orleans native and life-long angler a chance to have a brand new Chevrolet Silverado to tow their new boat. “My girlfriend helped me land the fish and made a comment about how pretty it was and that it had a red tag along the dorsal fin,” LaCoste said. “I wish I had known about the tournament and had registered for the S.T.A.R., especially since the truck I’m driving right now is 11 years old and has about 250,000 miles on it.” |
